Below are links to many firearms manufacture’s Websites, please understand that not all firearms listed on the linked sites are lawful for sale in the state of California. New and used handguns are subject to the DOJ Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale (although private party transfers and many single action revolvers are exempt from the roster).  Assault weapons, as defined by California law, are also prohibited from sale and transfer.

Requirements for Purchasing Handguns:

  1. Must be a minimum of 21 years old
  2. Valid CA ID/DL or Military ID with PCS orders
  3. Handgun Safety Certificate or equivalent
  4. Proof of residence (i.e. utility bills, car registration, rental/lease agreement, or something issued by city, state, or county dated within the last 90 days.)
  5. *If not a United States citizen, you must provide 90 consecutive days of proof of residence*
  6. *If not a United States citizen, you must provide an Alien card or work visa.*

Requirements for Purchasing Longguns:

  1. Must be a minimum of 18 years old
  2. Valid CA ID/DL or Military ID with PCS orders
  3. *If not a United States citizen, you must provide 90 consecutive days of proof of residence (see #4 for handgun purchase requirements)*
  4. *If not a United States citizen, you must provide an Alien card or work visa.*
